The Keynote Presenter Award for Excellence

Purpose

This award is to affirm people respected in the speaking industry for their eloquence as speakers including both their speaking excellence & their professionalism. The power of the spoken word to transform people’s behaviour and habits.

Evaluation Criteria

The nominee is evaluated in the following categories;

  • Material
  • Experience
  • Image
  • Communication Skills
  • Style
  • Delivery
  • Professionalism
  • Effecting change not simply entertaining or impressing eg by reputation or profile

Selection Panel

  • 5 persons
  • Criteria for eligibility to be on selection panel - respected keynote presenters, bureaux, keynote presentation coaches, prior recipient of award, actively involved in NSAA, understands the criteria & commitment to the purpose of the award
  • Chairperson selection – based on understanding the criteria & commitment to the purpose of the award and ability to take a stand for that
  • Duration of service to ensure continuity, learning & diversity, 2 serve 3 years, 2 serve 2 years and 1 serve 1 year then replaced, each panel member have a time between service of at least the number of years served to ensure turnover.

Nomination Process

  1. An awards selection panel is approved by the National Board
  2. A call to the membership for nominations announced in Natspeak and with a special edition email in October.
  3. The members simple need to respond to the National Secretariat, one nomination per member.

I nominate “Mary Smith/John Black” because......

  1. he nominees are confirmed as appropriate.
  2. Chair sends to the nominee notification of their nomination & invitation to accept and respond to nomination by providing the material which will be assessed by the selection panel members
  3. Nominee must send a letter of acceptance of the nomination and submit 5 copies of a current video, client marketing package and referees demonstrating performance against the criteria
    (Equivalent number of copies for no. of panel members)
  4. The packages are sent to members of the selection panel to review against the evaluation criteria and comment without consultation. They are to rank the nominations in priority order and submit their rankings to the Chair of the committee prior to discussion. The accreditation performance criteria protocol acts as a reference tool.
  5. The panel meets by teleconference to decide the award winner/s. No award given if candidates are not of adequate standard.

Notification

The results of the selection are to remain strictly confidential to the award committee. The nominee will be informed, on a confidential basis, in sufficient time for them to attend the Award’s dinner at the National convention and invite family and friends to see them receive it.

Convocation

National Awards ceremony at Annual Convention - following a commentary, which outlines the purpose and criteria of the award, the winner will be recognized and presented with their award.

Publicity

An authorised defined statement of the award as recognized by NSAA e.g. The NSAA Keynote Presentation Award for Excellence (year) presented for speaking excellence & professionalism using the spoken word from the platform to transform people’s behaviour and habits.

Please check the selection criteria, identify someone who you believe will qualify and be a good ambassador for the award, then submit their name and the reason you are nominating them to
