SUPPORT STAFF SESSIONS

(Double session 2 hours)
Donna Hanson RECLAIM Your Inbox – Your Best is Yet to Come! Is Email Sabotaging Your Boss’s Speaking Success?
Simple systems to save your sanity and theirs.

Colin McInnes-Smith – You forgot WHAT and you need it WHEN?
How to BEST support your speaking boss/partner and their busy schedules, identify the mutual time wasters, network with other assistants and work independently 90% of the time.

ASK THE EXPERTS ASK THE EXPERTS – 3 x 20 minute sessions. 10 people per table. A selection of the 32 experts including:
What is the Ask the Experts Session?
Ask the Experts is a round-table discussion with one expert speaking about a previously promoted specific topic. (see list at end of document). With a total of 10 people only at each table (including the expert) you will have an opportunity to listen initially to the experts and then have your specific question answered.

How does it work? There will be 30 experts and each expert will repeat their session 3 times. The sessions will run for 20 minutes plus 5 minutes question time. Plus another 5 minutes to move from one table to another.

What if I can’t decide which session to go to? Unfortunately it will be necessary for you to make a decision prior to the Ask the Experts Session commencing. Once a table fills, and if by chance you miss out on that session, you can then move to another table. There will be three repeat sessions, so if you miss out on one session – hopefully you can catch the second or third session. It’s advisable to have at least 6 experts highlighted on your program, so if one table is full you can decide to select another.

Will the experts provide handouts? Some experts may choose to provide handouts – they will be repeating the same session 3 times with a potential total of 27 people/sets of handouts. Some experts may refer you to their website for more information.

The quality of experts is very high, why have you made it so hard for me to make a decision which session to attend? We have many experts throughout our 600 plus membership and Ask the Experts is a fantastic way for you to learn more about specific topics. Unfortunately we only have 30 spots available this year. However we have selected topics that we think will appeal across the board from speakers-to-be and associates through to accomplished Certified Speaking Professionals.

Is there a way to obtain information from the experts whose tables are full, by the time I get to them? I think it would be really helpful if you network with someone from your chapter prior to the Ask the Experts session and make a decision which experts you are going to see. With 3-4 people – you would actually be potentially accessing a total of 9-12 different experts. And after the session, we have allocated four different Conversation Cafι areas – where for example - you could meet with your mates to compare notes on the Ask the Expert session.

Any tips? Be prepared. Write down your questions BEFORE you sit down at the table – that way you have more chance of getting answers to your queries. Don’t stress if you don’t get the expert of your choice – you may meet them elsewhere during the convention – have your question ready and you will more than likely receive an answer.
